Head/Assistant Coach

Time Commitment:

2-4 hours per week during the season.

CDC: Concussion Awareness Training (online)
Online Coach Course

Adult/Youth Referee

Time Commitment:

2-5 hours per week during the season.

AYSO Referee Requirements:

Adult and youth referees complete the same training courses.

Annual Background Check (adult volunteers only, youth volunteers do not submit a background check)

CDC: Concussion Awareness Training (online)
AYSO Regional Referee Certification

Become An Intermediate Referee

If you enjoy your referee experience, further your expertise by taking the Intermediate Referee certification! Regional referees should be able to easily upgrade to the Intermediate level by their second or third year.

AYSO training doesn't stop, as long as you're having fun! Intermediate referees can take the Advanced Referee and then the National Referee certifications.

Youth Volunteer/VIP Buddy

Time Commitment:

2-4 hours per week during the season.

Youth volunteers assist coaches, but they are not allowed to be alone with the players as they are not subjected to a background check. Online training courses are available to all AYSO volunteers for free on the AYSOU Online Learning Resources website. Log into AYSOU with your volunteer account login.

Team Parent/Manager

Time Commitment:

2-3 hours per week during the season.

AYSO Team Parent/Manager Requirements:
